Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Newton Abbot College

Course description

The BTEC qualification in Performing Arts aims to provide a broad educational base for further training, further education and employment within the performing arts sector. The qualification will develop students’ abilities through the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the course.

Course content

You will explore a wide variety of performance styles and genres, through written research and rehearsal. You will develop your performing skills in all three disciplines of Performing Arts by collaborating with a variety of people in three performance tasks. You will learn how to target specific audiences and how to put on a professional event. You will also gain essential skills like communication, time management, dedication and independent learning.

Entry requirements


Students must have achieved a minimum of Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics and Grade C (equivalent) in at least 3 other GCSE/Level 2 qualifications.


C Grade (equivalent) or above in a Level 2 Performing Arts related qualification.
