Course description

If you are interested in working as a carpenter or joiner, this course is for you.Units of study include: Health, safety and welfare in construction - Principles of building construction, information and communication - Carry out first fix flooring and roofing - Carry out first fix frames, partitions and stairs - Carry out second fixing operations - Carry out carpentry maintenance - Set up and operate a circular saw

Entry requirements

You will need 4 or more GCSEs at grade 3 or higher or a relevant level 1 qualification.If you are aged 19 or older, relevant industry experience may be accepted.You will be invited to an interview to help us ensure the course is right for you.

Assessment

Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, multiple choice tests, practical assignments and online tests.

If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay a course fee; however, there may be additional resources fees and fees for materials, kits and trips. Please visit our website for full details.
