A-level Geography at College of West Anglia

Course description

A-level Geography will help you develop and apply a wide range of skills and methods to geographical situations, enabling you to effectively collate, represent, quality, analyse, interpret and evaluate information, sources and data.The course explores Earths physical properties and the processes that have shaped it (Physical geography), the relationships between people and their environments (Human geography) and a wide range of geo-political issues facing the world today. The course is delivered through group and individual field investigations, lectures, presentations, discussions, one-to-one work with, tutors, online research, library research and activities involving the development of geographical skills, video-tapes and data-response exercises. You will be expected to devote at least 5 hours of directed study (homework, preparation, and reading) per week.

Entry requirements

You will need 6 or more GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including English language and maths, and grade 6 and above in your chosen subjects (where possible).
