Childcare - Apprenticeship (Intermediate) - Level 2 at College of West Anglia

Course description

The course is aimed at people who are employed in a suitable childcare (early years) setting. For example, this could be within a nursery, pre-school or playgroup. Subjects studied will include: helping keep children safe supporting childrens development support childrens play and learning prepare and maintain environments to meet childrens needs.

Entry requirements

You will be interviewed and assessed for your potential, commitment and motivation to achieve the apprenticeship, based upon the range and level of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace. You may also need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills in which you are required to be working at/towardslevel 1 or higher in English and Maths. At the start of your apprenticeship you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30 hours a week. You will also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years, not have a level 4 or higher qualification and not be on any other government funded training programme.

Assessment

The course is assessed using a portfolio and work-based assessments functional skills tests to be completed, if necessary.

If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay a course fee; however, there may be additional resources fees and fees for materials, kits and trips. Please visit our website for full details.
