Plumbing - Apprenticeship (Advanced) - Level 3 at College of West Anglia

Course description

This course is for anyone employed in the Plumbing and Heating Industry with a Level 2 NVQ/Diploma or equivalent.Currently following the environmental route covering, environmental technology, thermal hot water systems as well as electrical work, central heating, hot water, cold water and sanitation.

Entry requirements

The Level 2 NVQ/Diploma in Plumbing or equivalent is a prerequisite for the course. It is recommended that you have gained a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C (5) or above which must include Maths and English. You may also need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills, in which you are required to be working at/towards level 2, if not already achieved. An interview is required, where you will be assessed for your potential to achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the level and range of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace. At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30 hours per week. You will also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years, not have a level 4 or higher qualification and not be on any other government funded training programme. Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course. You will also need to purchase the Level 3 NVQ/SVQ plumbing (edition to be advised by tutors) textbook by Michael B. JTL, costing approximately £25.
