Carpentry and Joinery - Level 1 at College of West Anglia

Course description

If you want to progress into the construction industry as a carpenter/joiner, this course is for you. The course offers introductory skills in a range of construction trades which include bricklaying, carpentry & joinery and plumbing.In the summer term you will then specialise in carpentry & joinery and develop skills and knowledge which will enable you to progress in this specialist trade.

Entry requirements

You will need 3 or more GCSEs at grade 2 or higher, or entry level qualifications.You will be invited to an interview to help us ensure the course is right for you.


Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments.

Financial information

If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay a course fee; however, there may be additional resources fees and fees for materials, kits and trips. Please visit our website for full details.
