Hospitality/Supervision- Apprenticeship (Advanced) - Level 3 at College of West Anglia

Course description

The course is aimed at people who wish to further a career in the Hospitality and Catering industry, in hospitality supervision or management roles. Subjects studied include: Health and Safety in the workplace food safety in catering effective teamwork customer service control of resources risk assessments organising and supervising of functions and monitoring of staff.

Entry requirements

You will be interviewed and assessed for your potential, commitment and motivation to achieve the apprenticeship, based upon the range and level of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace. You may also need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills in which you are required to be working at/towards level 2 maths and level 2 English, or higher. At the start of your apprenticeship you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30 hours a week. You will also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years, not have a level 4 or higher qualification and not be on any other government funded training programme. For hospitality supervision you must be able to show approximately 2 years industry experience and/or have a level 2 hospitality qualification.

Assessment

Portfolio and work based assessments, Underpinning knowledge exams and functional skills tests are held at the college (some attendance required).

Financial information

If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay a course fee; however, there may be additional resources fees and fees for materials, kits and trips. Please visit our website for full details.
