Course description

This course will enable learners to gain an insight into basic carpentry techniques and skills.

Course content

The study programme is designed for students who work or want to work as a carpenter or joiner in the construction sector. It allows students to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in carpentry or joinery. The course covers the following work skills and job knowledge: producing basic woodworking joints, safely using various hand and power tools, principles of building construction, information and communication and Health & Safety and welfare in construction.
