Hairdressing City and Guilds Level 2 at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
This is a full-time one year programme for learners wishing to become qualified in Hairdressing. You will need to show good communication skills and confidence when meeting new people.
Most of this course will be delivered in a practical environment and will allow you to progress your skills in a commercial Hair salon environment with continual supervision, support and assessment. In addition to your main qualification, you will develop skills in client care and communication and health & safety. You will also acquire skills in cutting, setting, blow drying, long hair work, perming and colouring.
You need to gain 4 GCSEs at grade D or above. You will undergo an interview involving a pre-entry assessment in literacy and numeracy.
Assessment is ongoing, allowing you to learn at your own pace and achieve a high level of competency. You will be assessed by observation and on-line tests.
We recommend you purchase a Hairdressing kit and uniform. Details of this will be provided at enrolment.
We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Upon completion you will be advised of your progression opportunities which can include: VRQ or NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing or NVQ or VRQ in Beauty Therapy.
Full-time, approx 3 days a week (dependant on timetables) A minimum of 95% attendance is required.
