Public Services BTEC Level 3 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

This is a one year full-time programme for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the uniformed services such as the Police, Fire, Ambulance, Prison/Probation Services, Army, Navy and Air Force, or wishing to progress to higher education. It is equivalent to one A Level.

Course content

Students will study five units: Government, Policies and the Public Services; Leadership and Teamwork;Citizenship and Diversity; Understanding Discipline in the Public Services; Fitness Testing and Training.Your study programme will be a combination of classroom-based learning, with practical sessions and residential trips.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and maths)

Assessment

This programme is made up of a combination of practical and theoretical study with continuous assessment,written assignments and evidence gained from residential trips and the comprehensive programme of visiting speakers from the Public Services.

You will need indoor and outdoor sports kit/footwear

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

The BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification designed to give you a good understanding of the working practices of all the Public Services. You can either seek employment or progress onto a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Subject to meeting relevant progression criteria).
