Vehicle Maintenance & Repair IMI Level 2 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
This study programme covers the basic technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry. It provides essential knowledge for service and vehicle technicians working on vehicles such as cars, vans in all kinds of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots. You will work with industry standard tools and equipment in our college workshops. These courses are an ideal step to the vocational competence qualification.
You will complete a number of units Chassis, Engines,Transmissions,Servicing and Electrical which give you the essential skills and knowledge required for working in the industry. On the maintenance and repair course you will have an understanding of the different systems on a vehicle in order for it to operate (gained at level 1). This knowledge will be built upon to include the service and maintenance repair of the vehicle. An essential part of the course is the integration of english, maths
Successful completion of a Level 1 motor vehicle course, GCSE Grades A - C, initial assessment, Level 1 - Level 2 in English and Maths, good attendance 95%.
You will be assessed carrying out a number of practical tasks in the workshop; there will also be in-class verbal and written assessments and a number of on-line multi choice assessments for all of your study programme elements (including English and Maths).
You will require steel toe cap boots, overalls, pen/pencil, notepad/folder and a memory stick..

On successful completion of your study programme including English and Maths your next step will be to progress onto one of our level 3 study programmes, employment and possible Appreticeship.
You will be required to attend 3 days per week as this is a full-time course. It is compulsory for you to attend all sessions including English and Maths functional skills and work experience. 95% attendance required.
