This course not only gives you an insight into the Travel & Tourism sector, but also gives you the skills and knowledge to become part of this rapidly expanding industry and can lead you into employment or onto a higher level Travel & Tourism course.

Course content

Structure of the Travel and Tourism Industry; Worldwide Travel & Tourism Destinations; Customer Service and Selling Skills; UK Travel Destinations; Resort Representatives; Promotional Activities; Principals of Customer Service in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism; Interpersonal Skills for the Workplace; English and Maths Functional Skills or GCSE as appropriate

Entry requirements

Age 16+ with a minimum of four grade D GCSEs in academic subjects. Applicants should be committed and enthusiastic. All applicants will be required to attend an interview and will be assessed for suitability to the course.

Assessment

This course is continually assessed in a variety of ways, including written assignments, role plays and activities. You will also take short external exams for some units.

The majority of students progress to a higher academic level after successful completion of this course (BTEC Diploma in Travel and Tourism for example).
