This course will provide students with the opportunity to progress into their second year of study in Photography. The course provides a sound technical background and will help students develop both commercial and personally creative work. You will study a range of photographic units surrounding themes such as portraiture, college life and magazine covers. Through completing these projects you will gain knowledge of photographic techniques and processes whilst being required to develop ideas and concepts that can be communicated through a photograph. 90 Credit Diploma in Art and Design (Photography) and completion of summer project.

Assessment

100% Coursework. Students are required to record their project development in an appropriate format for each assignment e.g. sketchbook. Progress is monitored by continuous assessment procedures. Students receive regular feedback at assessment points during the course. Students will be required to complete all units and the points scored for each unit form the end grade.

Financial information

A Digital SLR Camera and 35mm SLR is desirable but not essential.

Future opportunities

Students who successfully complete the Extended Diploma in Art and Design (Photography) can move on to a higher programme of study either within the College or at university, or gain employment within the photographic industry.
