Interior Design Level 3 90 Credit Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

The qualification recognises skills in interior design, and focuses on drawing, observational, and design skills in combination with design theory and history in order to prepare learners for vocational opportunities in the Interior Design industry.

Course content

The course consists of a number of units covering all aspects of interior design, including: Introduction to Design Style; Professional Practice Studies; Colour Theory and Application; Perspective and Life Drawing; Survey - Room Interiors; Room Planning; Lighting; Domestic Space Design.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements are 4 GCSEs at C and above, or a BTEC First Diploma or equivalent.


Work is assessed throughout the course. On completion of each unit, the course tutor will formally assess the work. The course is internally moderated by a member of the College team and externally moderated through the National Standards Sampling process.

Financial information

Drawing equipment, scale ruler and folders. Most materials can be purchased from the College shop.

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

Successful completion can lead on to the Extended Diploma in Interior Design. Students who successfully complete the two years could progress onto the HND in Interior Design or enter employment in this occupational area.
