Design and Technology (Product Design) A Level at Chipping Campden School

Course description

This course aims:

  • To develop awareness in all aspects of design activity including sensitivity to aesthetic factors and accuracy in the choice and use of materials.
  • To encourage candidates to apply their knowledge and understanding of design and technology to familiar and unfamiliar situations and problems.
  • To develop numeric and communication skills and scientific knowledge appropriate to design and technology.
  • To provide an opportunity for candidates to exercise initiative, imagination and resourcefulness in the solution of design problems.

Entry requirements

Grade C or above in any one of the design and technology options: graphics, electronics and resistant materials. Portfolio entry may be possible for non-GCSE students.
