Media : Level 3 at Gateway College
The qualification is designed for Post 16 learners who want to study media related degree courses in Higher Education. Learners gain knowledge and understanding of creative digital media production and develop an understanding of how to work within the media industries. Learners will follow a general programme of study, learning digital production skills in a variety of different media in Film, Television and Radio, Interactive Publishing, Animation and Digital Games. The qualification is intended to be studied over two years as the substantial qualification in a learner’s study programme. This course will give you the training and experience you need to develop high-quality skills in creative digital media production. There will be opportunities to work in a vocational environment learning about a range of design and creative media subjects. You will be working on industry standard project briefs, which encourage course work that reflects creativity, flair and investigation. The course is made up of 18 units, 7 mandatory units and 6 optional. Subjects include Digital media skills, representations, film production, computer game design, digital magazine production and more. This extended diploma is a creative media qualification primarily and involves aspects of graphic design, computer games design, photography, radio, film and television production.
This qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Many of our students go on to study Degree in subjects such as TV and Film, Graphics, Photography, Games Design, Interactive Multimedia, Creative Arts etc. Students also gain employment in creative arts industries such as Graphic Design, Radio, Television, Film, Photography and Video Game production companies. Alternatively, you may wish to apply for an Apprenticeship.
