Health and Social Care Btec Level 3 at Hertswood Academy

Course description

The BTEC National in Health and Social Care is ideal for any student interested in working in the caring professions in the future, for example nursery nursing, social work or elderly care. The course is practically based a nd provides an excellent foundation for future learning or employment in the care sector. This course is equivalent to 1 A Level.

Entry requirements

No specific subjects are ess ential at GCSE but you must have 5 A * - C passes including English & Maths. You do not need to have studied Helath & Social Care at KS4 to complete this course.

Assessment

The qualification is comprised of 2 externally examined units as shown above and you will sit a 1hour and 30 minute exam for each of these units. The optional units are coursework based units and you will be able to achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction level in each unit.
