English Literature A Level at St Francis Xavier 6th Form College (SFX College)

Course description

On this English course you will learn to analyse, compare and understand a wide variety of literary texts of all genres: poetry, drama and prose. A wide range of literary eras are represented on the course, which focuses on a balance of modern and classic texts.

Entry requirements

In addition to our Programme Entry Requirements, applicants must also meet specific Course Entry Requirements:

Grade B in English Language and Grade B in English Literature.


Two examinations and a coursework folder of analytical work.
