Textiles Level 3 at Beaufort Co-operative Academy

Course description

This course is completely different to GCSE Textiles it involves more practical based activities with a small amount of writing to support the work. Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences exploring a range of textile media and techniques. Students will explore images, artefacts, photographs, resources relating to art and design, craft and design, from the past and recent times, including European and non - European examples. Pupils will go on to develop a personal response using a range of techniques of their choice in one or more of the areas listed below:

• Constructed and installed textiles

• Printed and/or dyed fabric and materials

• Domestic textiles, wallpaper and interior design

• Fashion

Future opportunities

Fashion Design, Textile Design, Interior Design, Art and Design, Merchandising, Buyer and Fashion marketing (course to continue at a university degree level or Foundation), course at college.
