Level 2 Certificate in Barbering at Kingston College

Course description

This course aims to provide learners with a range of essential and practical skills and knowledge to equip them for employment or further training in the barbering industry. These skills will include services such as shampooing, conditioning, cutting men's hair, drying and finishing men's hair and creating basic outlines in the hair.

Course content

This qualification covers all the core skills you require to further your learning or enter into employment in the barbering industry. Units studied include: promote products and services, colour and lighten, cut men’s hair, styling men’s hair.

Entry requirements

A minimum of three GCSEs at grade C/4 or D/3 to include English or Mathematics at a grade C/4 or have successfully completed a Level 1 Hairdressing course.

A satisfactory school reference and behaviour record, a successful interview and diagnostic screening are required prior to an offer being made.

Work placement is a mandatory part of this course.

Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the essential knowledge and practical skills to be employed as a barber, either in a barber shop or hair salon.
