Course description

The qualification provides learners with the opportunity to practice and be assessed on the installation of wiring systems together with the relevant theory of electrical installation.

Course content

Students will have the opportunity to experience:

• Health and Safety
• Electrical Installation Theory and Technology
• Procedures and Requirements
• Electrical Installation Craft Skills
• Electrical Science and Principles

Please note: If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.

Students will be given the option to attend a CSCS card test at an additional cost of £40 to allow them to gain access to construction sites and possible work placement opportunities.

Entry requirements

Standard Level 2 entry requirements apply. You will also require a Grade 4 in Maths.


90% Coursework, 10% Exam

Future opportunities

On successful completion, you will be able to pursue a career in this occupational area. Many students choose to progress onto an Apprenticeship to earn whilst they learn. You could also progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and Built Environment.
