Sport Btec Level 3 at Corfe Hills School

Course description

Year 13 BTEC will continue with the same organisation as Year 12.

Single BTEC students will complete the following units in Year 13:
UNIT 4: Fitness Training & Programming
UNIT 5: Sports Coaching
UNIT 6: Sports Development

Double BTEC students will complete the same units as the Single BTEC students plus:
Unit 15: Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise
Unit 18: Sports Injuries
Unit 25: Sport as a Business

Course content

Each topic will develop your understanding of a specialist area in the sports and leisure industry and will enhance your ability to be a coach or work with people wanting to develop their fitness.

Your teachers will enhance your knowledge and understanding in the classroom before you apply it to a scenario and produce evidence. 

Assessment

You will be assessed though continual assessments - there are no written examinations.

Assignments will vary and will not always be in written form. You may be asked to give presentations, create visual posters, create coaching videos, organise events or lead during festivals with junior school pupils. Each assignment will be clearly outlined in terms of its assessment criteria and you will be provided with clear feedback on how you have gained your marks.
