Sport BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate at BSix Brooke House Sixth Form College

Course description

If you have a keen interest in sport and want to follow an exciting and rewarding career in sport, health, leisure or coaching then you should study the BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Sport. You will learn about the underlying principles to success in sport, including training programmes, the human body and how it responds to exercise. The course involves various practical elements; therefore you will be expected to participate in a variety of sports.

Entry requirements

Level 2 Diplomas for students with 4 D grades at GCSE.

Future opportunities

This qualification will allow you to enter employment in the sport and active leisure sector or to progress to applied qualifications such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. It will be the best route for you if you wish to progress within specific areas of
employment such as exercise and fitness, leadership support and land/water-based outdoor and adventure activities. You may seek employment in the sport sector at a junior level in a range of roles including recreation assistant or sports leader.
