Sociology GCSE at BSix Brooke House Sixth Form College

Course description

Sociology helps students develop a wide range of knowledge and understanding about society, and how sociologists study and understand its structures, processes and issues. Sociology is exciting, interesting and relevant to students' lives.

Course content

The GCSE Full Course specification is fully examined, with no coursework. Students are encouraged to question evidence and issues and develop their critical and evaluation skills. 

Entry requirements

For students with Grade D or 3 or below. Also for students who have not had the opportunity to study GCSEs previously but demonstrate sufficient subject knowledge and ability in the entrance test

Future opportunities

There is a smooth progression from GCSE to A-level Sociology.
