Beauty Therapy Techniques Diploma Level 3 at Canterbury College Not
This is a vocational qualification that will complement the knowledge, understanding and skills gained at Level 2. This course is aimed at people who would like to work as a beauty therapist. Students train in the College's own state-of-the-art spa.
This course builds on the knowledge and skills gained at Level 2 Beauty Therapy and introduces topics including: body massage, body and facial electrotherapy, nail enhancements, nail art, self tanning, aromatherapy and functional skills. Practical skills are developed on fellow students prior to work on clients. The course has a strong vocational emphasis, allowing you to develop practical skills recognised by employers. You'll be encouraged to develop your own abilities, and also to communicate and interact with external clients.
This qualification will require you to develop an effective working methodology, which will enable you to react positively and creatively across a diverse range of assignments and creative activities.
You must have 5 GCSEs at C and a Level 2 Diploma or equivalent qualification, and have a strong level of personal skills and appearance. Entry on the course is subject to an interview.
You will be continually assessed throughout the course and will complete practical assessments on paying clients as well as written assignments and online tests. You will create a portfolio of evidence to display your achievement.
You can progress into Higher Education or into employment.
Purchase of a Beauty therapy kit, uniform and appropriate footwear is required (full details will be given during your interview). Fee-paying models may be required for some assessments. Course fee: To be discussed at interview.
