Business, Retail and Administration Level 1 at Canterbury College
This qualification will introduce you to the world of business and administration. It will help you to develop your employability skills.
You will learn about how to create typical business documents such as agendas and minutes used at business meetings. As part of the study programme you will learn how to work in a team, which is a key business skill. You will run an event which not only gives you vital entrepreneurial skills but also allows you to support local charities. Finally you will explore job opportunities in the business and administration environment and prepare a CV in order that you can secure the kind of job you are looking for.
Four GCSEs at grade E and above (including English and Maths).
You will be continually assessed during and at the end of each unit you undertake. Your feedback will be both verbal and written, ensuring that you have the necessary guidance to complete the study programme with the best qualification grade. All tutors are practising industry professionals.
If you successfully complete the Level 1 study programme you could progress onto the L2 Business programme. Alternatively you could progress on to an Apprenticeship in Business Administration or Customer Service.
There will be a variety of UK trips offered throughout the year. You will also have the opportunity for work experience within the College's retail outlet.
Our Level 1 students complete work experience here at college including helping the estates team to distribute the incoming mail as well helping the reception team to frank outgoing mail.
