OCR Level 3 Diploma: Performing Arts at Loughborough College

Course description

You will begin your studies by exploring the skills required of an actor in a piece of naturalistic theatre. Within the first half-term of the course you will have gained valuable rehearsal and character skills culminating in a performance in front of an audience. You will further develop your skills by working on creating a pantomime with a professional run of performances to matinee and evening audiences. You will go on to explore devised theatre, creating a politically charged piece based on your interests. You will complete your projects by exploring the work of Shakespeare. Throughout the first year you will explore key employability skills such as working in the industry from a professional brief, building a portfolio, auditioning and accessing funding. You will also learn key skills in acting, dance, singing and in protecting your toolkit by keeping your body and voice healthy.

The course aims to provide you with a wide-range of skills and experiences. Students also benefit from a range of extra-curricular opportunities such as role play (corporate training), theatre trips, dance and singing clubs. Throughout the course you will access our industry standard resources and spaces
