Construction and the Built Environment Level 3 Diploma at Carre's Grammar School

Course description

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment provides learners with the underpinning knowledge and basic skills needed in a wide range of industry areas. It explores the built environment in terms of its economic, social and environmental impact on both individuals and communities. This Diploma also looks at the different demands made upon land use over time as well as the activities which shape, develop and influence the built environment. The Construction and the Built Environment Diploma provides an understanding of how this key sector works from the inside out. For learners who want to establish a firm foundation of knowledge and skills in construction and the built environment.

Entry requirements

Students will need to meet the minimum entry criteria for Level 3 applied study. Both GCSE Maths and English Grade 4+ will be required. Students who have successfully completed the CAA Bricklaying or Site Carpentry course to a high standard in Year 12 may progress onto Level 3 Construction and stay for a total of three years in Sixth Form.

Assessment

Assessment will be via a mixture of internally and externally assessed elements. Students will be given opportunities to improve their work by acting on teacher feedback and assessment will be linked to real contexts as far as possible in order to maximize student attainment.
