Course content

During the course you will use your knowledge from previous study as a springboard to become an Early Years Educator. You will gain a thorough understanding of the Children’s Learning and Development sector, develop your ability to plan and prepare, as well as build your confidence to become an effective teacher of young people. There are theoretical and vocational elements to this course allowing you to put your learning into practise within a childcare setting.

Modules you will study include:

  • Understanding children's Early Years education and development
  • Implementing Early Years foundation stage
  • Diversity, equality and inclusion
  • Plan and provide effective teaching and learning
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Develop effective and informed professional practice
  • Promote the health, safety and well-being of children
