Course description

You will use your passion for working creatively on a computer to develop a basic understanding of interactive content creation.

Course content

During the first year of the course you will develop skills in computer animation nad CGI techniques, and design for moving image. You will also develop your skills in English and maths.

Topics you will study include:

  • Interactive media and computer games
  • Computer animation and CGI techniques
  • Design for the moving image
  • Photo imaging and manipulation
  • Video Production, Processes and Techniques
  • Editing Audio and Video for Interactive content
  • Web Page Concepts and Creation
  • Sound recording techniques and technology

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are needed for the Level 1 course, but you will have an initial college assesment to ensure you have an appropriate level of English.

Assessment

You will be assessed through a series of coursework assignments and practical tasks.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course you can progress on the Level 2 Interactive Content: Games, Virtual Reality and VFX course, or start an Apprenticeship in a similar area.

With additional training you may wish to start a career in the industry and could find roles in, Broadcast Media (Radio production, Visual and special effects, Cinematography and UK broadcasting), Journalism and Media.

    • Less than a mile away from our Station Plaza campus, Ore Valley takes under a minute by train from Hastings Town Centre and has 7,000 square metres of realistic working environments, workshops and ‘live build’ areas. In the central atrium, students construct, wire, plumb, fit-out and decorate a full-size house. Students here have access to the latest equipment and digital technology, a Learning Resource Centre, a sports pitch, diner and coffee shop.

      Students have 24/7 access to lessons and learning resources from home via WIKI, podcasts and teacher/student blogs. Students can hire laptops from the LRCs and both sites are WIFI activated.
