Chemistry A level at The Stourport High School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

Pupils are taught in a variety of ways ranging from class discussions, to research assignments and laboratory experiments. The course content is thought-provoking, interesting and challenging, and as a result pupils make good progress. Progress is monitored via regular independent study tasks and end of topic tests that incorporate examination questions. Coursework follows naturally on from GCSE which means pupils are confident in the format and achieve excellent marks in this section of the course.

  •  Equilibria and Organic Chemistry - further in-depth study of topics  met at AS

A2 Unit 5:

  • Energetics, Redox and Inorganic Chemistry - further in-depth study of topics met at AS, plus Transition Metals
