Course description

AS:

  • Aural analysis and analytical listening: 3 classical set works plus 3 jazz set works.
  • Performance on any instrument or voice, plus performance on either a second instrument or in an ensemble
  • Composition coursework including a free composition and a selection of technical exercises.

A2:

  • History and analysis exam with set works and an optional specialist study.
  • Focused performance recital on any instrument or voice.
  • Composition coursework including a free composition and a selection of technical exercises.

Assessment

AS:

  • 90 min exam, 10 minute recital, composition folio

A2:

  • 2 hour exam, 12 minute recital, composition folio
