Course description

Year 12:

Unit S1 ~ Numerical measures, probability, binomial distribution, normal distribution, and correlation and regression.

Unit S2 ~ Time series analysis, sampling, discrete probability distributions, interpretation of data, and application of hypothesis testing.

Unit S3 ~ Application of contingency tables in the real world situations, distribution free methods, and further correlation.

Year 13:

Unit S4 ~ Continuous probability distributions ~ linear combinations, distributional approximations, estimation in real world context, and further applications of hypothesis testing

Unit S5 ~ Further continuous probability distribution ~ rectangular and exponential, estimation and confidence intervals, more applications of hypothesis testing,

Unit S6 ~ Experimental design, analysis of variance, statistical process control, acceptance sampling.

No coursework

Examinations:

3 x 90 min exams, one for each unit S1, S2 and S3 in year 12.

3 X 90 min exam, one for each unit S4, S5 and S6
