A Level Professional Honours Programme - Teaching - Science & Maths at Wigan & Leigh College

Course description

This new programme has been developed to provide you with the very best opportunities to enable you to develop

the essential skills needed to secure your chosen career path and for your future success. We have combined both traditional academic A Level subjects with essential professional related experiences

to offer you a comprehensive programme of study.

Course content

You will study 4 AS subjects in the first year: Biology, Chemistry, Maths and a further AS Level. You will have a dedicated Professional Development Day where you will further your studies and knowledge with a range of activities including: the Extended Project Qualification, Tomorrow's Teachers Programme, Work placement, a Student Conference and planning an international fieldtrip

Entry requirements


8 GCSEs graded A*-C/9-5 of which a minimum of 4 GCSEs graded B/ 9-6 (including English, maths and science)


You will undertake external examinations, produce coursework and practical assessments.
