Child Care Early Years Level 1 Cache Diploma at Wigan & Leigh College

Course description

This course gives you an introduction to working in early years. It will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in communication, problem solving, team working and time management. You will also undertake work experience.

Course content

The programme of study covers a range of topics including vocational and personal & social development. Communication, physical and emotional needs, encouraging children to eat healthily, creative and physical activities for children, working towards goals and working as part of a team. You will also study English and Maths at an appropriate level. The programme of study entails a large element of work exprience.

Entry requirements


A minimum of 5 A*-E/F / 9-2 GCSE subjects or equivalent

You will receive support from a competent, approachable team of staff, who have experience in the Early Years and child care sector. You will learn about values, interpersonal skills and the care needs required for working in the sector. You will require a satisfactory DBS clearance.
