Unit descriptions –
202 -Understand how to select types of building information, environmental considerations in relation to construction, the construction of foundations, construction of internal and external walls, construction of floors, construction of roofs, and how to communicate in the workplace.
203 - How to construct thin joint masonry for use with concrete and steel-framed buildings. 204 includes - How to plan and select resources forpractical tasks, erect solid walling to required specification, erect isolated and attached piers to required specification.
205 - How to interpret information to establish setting-out requirements, prepare construction sites for setting-out activities, select resources for settingout work and set out regular-shaped masonry structures on level ground.
206 - How to plan and select resources for practical tasks, how to erect cavity walling to required specification, how to form openings in cavity walling.
201/601 - Health and safety, regulations rights and responsibilities.

However, we ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualifications successfully.
Possible progression routes – Candidates can progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations, Level 3 Diploma in Bricklaying.
Equipment required - Protective footwear, there may be a requirement to have construction tools.
