Course description
Assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course. We’ll ask you to complete practical assessments and written tests for up to nine units.An online job-knowledge assessment will be taken during the year alongside an online health & safety test which will be required to achieve the full qualification.
Course content
'This programme is the first step to gaining a qualification in the Construction Industry, specifically in the role of Painter & Decorator. The course covers the following units:The course covers the following units:Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industriesKnowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others Knowledge of construction technology Erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms Prepare common surface types for decoration Apply paint systems by brush and roller Apply standard papers to ceilings and walls Produce specialist decorative finishesApply water-borne paint systems using high volume low pressure (HVLP) spray equipment
Entry requirements
'Learners must have;Progression from Diploma Level 1 Painting & Decorating4 GCSE’s grades D – G or 1 -3 (Must include English or Maths)Successful interview with a Painting & Decorating tutorA genuine interest in the subjectGood communication skillsA hardworking approach towards the industry
