'The course includes units as follows:Health & SafetyWorking in the Hairdressing IndustryConsultation with clientsCutting hairColouring hairDressing and styling hairThere are many additional opportunities as part of this study programme. You will be expected to take part in work experience (36 hours), and will also have the opportunity to represent the college as you enter a range of regional and national competitions, such as Greater Manchester Colleges’ Competitions. During your time on this programme, you will also take part in external study visits, for example to Wella Studios in Manchester, to observe professionals within the industry and taking part in bespoke one day demonstrations on the latest trends and fashions in the industry. This course is assessed through a mixture of practical assessments, written tests and exams.
