How will I be taught?
You will be given a list of schools you can attend to prepare and be assisted by a range of staff and Sixth Form students within Hatch End who have already passed the exam. You will also be given past papers to practice.
At GCSE grade 4+/C+ and a competent knowledge to the level of a 5-9 year old in three of four components, speaking/listening/reading and writing. An excellent result at GCSE will lead into AS first then A level which is more literature based and requires the understanding of a 15 year old.
You will sit a mock exam. Your papers will go through a marking system to decide if you can be entered. Those with a good result will be entered by the Exams Officer. You will then undergo the actual components as an examination with an accredited examiner provided by the Exams Officer. Your paper will then be marked by the Examining Board and you will receive your mark on results day.
Useful for students who want to use a language for further study (e.g. at university). It also provides another qualification for university. It is also useful for those who want to work abroad or who want to work for companies with international links.
