Public Services Btec at Barnhill Community High School

Course description

BTEC Public Services is a vocational course that focuses on the uniformed public services such as the police, armed forces and the fire service, and a range of topics such as Law, Psychology, Sociology, PE and Outdoor Education. It is useful both in terms of moving on to Higher Education or employment, with increasing opportunities existing within the public services.

Course content

A variety of activities will be used to reflect the structure of the units and to enable you to get a real feel for the public services. These will include discussions, presentations, school trips and guest speakers.

BTEC Public Services provides a recognised progression route to university but many students progress to a career within the public service of their choice. These include the:
