Health and Social Care Diploma Level 3 Cambridge Technical at The Corsham School

Course description

The Cambridge Technicals in Health and Social Care have been developed to meet the changing needs of this sector. This is an Applied General course.  The Units taught will compromise of Core, Mandatory, and Optional units. The opinional units will be based around the strengths of the teaching staff. Areas of study will include topics such as:

  • Anatomy and Physiology (M)
  • Equality, Diversity and Rights (M)
  • Infection Control (M)
  • Nutrition for Health (O)
  • The impact of long term Physiology Conditions (C)

The course will serve as an excellent basis for students wishing to work in either the Health & Social Sector

Course content

Students will develop personal and professional skills through interaction with people who either work in the Health and Social Care Sector or require care or support, as well as theoretical knowledge and understanding to underpin their skills. It will also prepare students with the depth and breadth of knowledge required for further study at Higher Education.

Entry requirements

5 A*-C grades at GCSE and an interest in the caring professions

Assessment

Method of Assessment will be both internal and external

Future opportunities

This course serves as an excellent basis for students wishing to study Nursing, Physiotherapy, Social Work, etc.
