Site Carpentry Diploma Level 2 at Bradford College

Course description

This Level 2 course allows you to develop and practise the basic skills and knowledge gained from Level 1 required for employment and/or career progression in Carpentry and Joinery.

Course content

This course is for you if you want to study Site Carpentry.

It covers the following:

  • Carry Out First Fix Flooring and Roofing
  • Carry Out First Fix Frames, Partitions and Stairs
  • Carry Out Second Fixing Operations
  • Carry Out Carpentry Maintenance
  • Set Up and Operate a Circular Saw.

You will also continue to develop and study principles of building construction, information and communication.

Entry requirements

 Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery or an equivalent. Previous experience in the trade will also be considered by attending an interview.

If you do not hold a Grade A*-C/8/9-4 in Mathematics or English you will study these subjects as part of your course. If you have a Grade D/3 or Level 2 Functional Skill you will work towards achieving a Grade A*-C/8/9-4.

Assessment

The course is assessed by continuous practical assessments, knowledge based assessments for each unit and an online exam.
