Spanish A Level at Harlington Upper School

Course description

Learning a language is refreshing and challenging because it is a unique approach to study and during lessons students have the opportunity to converse in Spanish and improve self-awareness and self-confidence. At A-level candidates study a variety of topics about which they need to demonstrate knowledge and opinion in all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). This enables them to develop an understanding of the contemporary society, the culture and the heritage of countries where Spanish is spoken. Students will also gain cultural awareness of the country through the study of a literary text and a film. This subject will further enable a candidate to communicate clearly, confidently and effectively in the language in a variety of situations. It also provides students with important skills such as team work and independent learning.
