B grades in GCSE Maths or English
There are two exams in Year 12 which make up the AS qualification. These are made up of multiple choice, short answer and data response/case study questions. If the student wishes to progress to the A level in Year 13 there will be three examinations in June of Year 13. These will solely determine their A Level grade. This is different from the previous system when AS made up half of the A Level grade.
University courses that directly link to this course include: Business Studies, Management, Economics, Accounting, Marketing , Tourism, Hospitality courses and Business Law. Each of us works for an organisation of some description and some time during our lives, whether it be for a private company with shareholders or as part of the public sector working for the government. It is important to know how these different types of ‘business’ work. Understanding cash flow and marketing is only of use in the real world. It may even be your springboard to running your own business.
