Physics A level at Tolworth Sixth Form

Course description

This course is designed to prepare you for further studies in the Physical Sciences. It is ideal for those students who wish to read Physics, Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics at university. It is also extremely rewarding for those students wishing to pursue non - scientific careers, for example in Law, Design, Architecture, Accountancy and Business Studies as the principles of problem solving and understanding of concepts are transferable to many disciplines. You will develop the ability to think laterally and gain a deeper knowledge of the principles that you have studied at GCSE, such as Newton’s Laws of Motion and the evolution of the Universe. You will also advance your use of experimental techniques to support your own theories and enrich your understanding of the subject.

Entry requirements

Candidates will be expected to have gained 5 GCSE grades A* - C including at least BB in Double Award GCSE Science or Grade B in two Science subjects (including Physics) and a 5 grade in Maths.
