Course description

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavio u r and is therefore directly relevant to all of us. It is a fascinating subject as it focuses on explaining why people behave as they do. The ‘A’ level course involves learning about psychological theories and studies across a range of topics such as Memory, Relationships and Psychopathology.

Psychology is a popular subject which is attractive to students because it develops a range of valuable skills, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research. These skills are particularly relevant to yo ung people and are transferable to further study and the workplace. Our qualification offers students an engaging and stimulating introduction to the study of psychology, combined with the academic integrity and skills that Higher Education and employers value.

Entry requirements

Candidates will be expected to have achieved 5 GCSEs A * - C and a GCSE at grade 4 or above in English, Maths and a grade B in Biology or Grade B & C in Double Science.
