Music A Level at Wye School

Course description

A Level Music is a traditional academic subject which is recognised by the top universities, including Oxbridge. It is a rigorous qualification that prepares students who wish to continue with music into higher education, have ambitions to pursue music as a career or just enjoy music and have an aptitude for it.

Entry requirements

Grade 5+ in GCS E Music, if taken. Playing an instrument/singing to Grade 5 standard is essential. Students who believe they are at this standard but have not yet passed the exam can audition instead. Students need to be able to read stave notation confidently in both tre ble and bass clefs. An interest in a wide variety of music, as well as an ability to compose and write about music.
