Childcare Level 2 at Warrington & Vale Royal College
If you are interested in a career working with children then this would be the course for you.
You will be taught a range of different subjects including;
- The role of the early years practitioner
- Legislation, framework and professional practice
- Play, development and learning for school readiness
- Professional development.
To enrol on the course you will need the equivalent of 5 D grades at GCSE (Grade 3 in English and maths) or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Your course will be assessed with a range of course work and also practical observations out in your work placement.
ou will need to purchase a DBS check in order to attend your placement, the cost for which is £44.
Once you have completed this Level 2 course, you can then enrol on the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
Will I complete work placements?
You will attend 2 placements over the duration of the course. You will be present in a number of block week placements and attend the setting 2 days a week, every week.Are trips and residentials organised during the course?
There will be a number of trips on the course including a trip to Eureka children’s museum and a wide range of sporting enrichment activities.Are there any links with industry?
Alongside your placement, you will complete a number of placement based criteria within your assessment. There will also be guest speakers visiting your course from the industry.
