Childcare Level 3 at Warrington & Vale Royal College
If you are interested in a career in childcare then this course will be the right one for you. After completing the 2 years course it will enable you to have the skills you require to work within a childcare environment.
Examples of units that will be covered include:
- Child development
- Play and learning
- Understanding additional needs
- Preparing for school readiness
- International perspectives
Learners must be at least 16 years old and must have English Language at grade C or above.
You will be assessed using a variety of methods including a portfolio of evidence and a task-based controlled assessment.
Charges for course trips may be incurred. You will also be required to carry out a DBS check due to the nature of the course.
This course prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
Upon achievement, this qualification enables learners to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators or access Higher Education.
Will I complete work placements?
There will be 365 hours for certificate and a total of 750 over the two years for Early Years Educator.
Are trips and residentials organised during the course?
There will be different trips throughout including trips to Eureka and the Slavery museum.
Are there any links with industry?
You will cover a range of units during your time at college that you will make links to whilst out on placement and also within your assignments. You will often reflect on your work placement to continuously develop your practice.
