Step 2 in Cookery at MidKent College

Course description

Throw on your apron, tie back your hair and take your first steps towards a career in the hotel and catering industry.This course will teach you basic cookery methods and food and beverage service skills. You will also be given help to develop your personal presentation, communication and social skills.Practical work experience will also be provided in one of the College’s fine dining eateries The McLeods Restaurant.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade F or above including English or maths at grade 2 or above.

Future opportunities

The aim of this course is to enable all students to progress towards level 2 and eventually into employment within the hospitality and catering industry. Some students may also progress to an apprenticeship.
